Empowering Parents

As agents of opportunity that grow from our diverse communities, the SJECCD Workforce Institute team recently formed the Parent Academy in response to existing and emerging needs of communities served. The purpose of the PA is to empower and equip parents and caregivers with tools and resources necessary to increase student achievement, promote parent self-advocacy and prepare parents for employment or to be successful in college level-credit coursework. Through classes and coaching services parents gain skills to navigate the digital world, increase their employability opportunities while supporting their family to grow and thrive.
