Effective processes lead to innovative programs.

Workforce Institute (WI) offers a strategic and comprehensive training on grants management. As the lead agent of multiple grant funded projects, including Silicon Valley Career Pathways (SVCP), WI has gained the knowledge and expertise to effectively manage large and small grant projects. SVCP was a four-year grant project of $19.2M with the purpose of building regional career pathways from kindergarten through grade 14. With WI as the lead agent, SVCP served 52,424 students and was recognized by the Community College Future Assembly receiving the 2019 National Bellwether award in the category of Planning, Governance, and Finance.

Through the grants management training, customers will learn about the processes and procedures to effectively and efficiently manage grant projects, especially those projects that consist of large funding, multiple partners, and span across multiple years.

Training objectives include the process of:

• Understanding how to review and become knowledgeable of grant guidelines, regulations, and policies.
• Developing and managing partner contracts through agreements and amendments.
• Budget and fiscal management including invoices and advance request processes.
• Reporting guidelines including narratives, data, and budgets.
• Communication including internal and external methods.
