Decide if becoming a paralegal is the right career path for you. This course helps you discover the many aspects of what paralegals do by learning the fundamentals of legal terminology, contract law, how to conduct interviews and investigations, write briefs and prepare for appeals.

This course will examine the legal terminology used in Civil Litigation, Criminal, Administrative, Commercial, Personal Injury, Insurance, Intellectual Property, Ethics, Corporate, Real Estate, Bankruptcy, Employment, and Estate Law.

Legal Writing

his course introduces the student to the fundamentals of legal writing, including reasoning and analysis. Learn to develop effective and accurate legal communications through the use of critical thinking and legal authorities to support conclusions.

Civil Litigation

Learn all about the civil litigation process and how it impacts the role of the paralegal. The course is designed to follow the procedures of a civil lawsuit from the first client contact through discovery, settlement negotiations or trial, and appeal. You will learn the roles and responsibilities of the paralegal in preparing court documents, investigation, client and witness contact, discovery and trial assistantship.
